Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? - what worked for you?

I got a contract offer for 7 months as an insurance claims processor and I am unsure whether to accept. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. The contract could extend. What would you do?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.
