Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? - what worked for you?

I got a contract offer for 3 months as a data-entry clerk and I am unsure whether to accept. This is my first time dealing with any of this. The contract could extend. What would you do?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
