Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? - what worked for you?

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I have 5 months of savings left. What would you do?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 5 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
