Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? (update)

I got a contract offer for 17 months as a project coordinator and I am unsure whether to accept. I am in Boise, in case local advice matters. I have 8 months of savings left. Did a contract become permanent?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
