Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? (St. Louis)

I got a contract offer for 6 months as a payroll clerk and I am unsure whether to accept. I worked as a payroll clerk before this. I have 2 months of savings left. How did you handle benefits?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.

Ask about extension likelihood and whether the team has hired contractors before.
