Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? (Hartford)

I got a contract offer for 9 months as a data-entry clerk and I am unsure whether to accept. It has been a long 14 weeks. The contract could extend. What would you do?

Ask about extension likelihood and whether the team has hired contractors before.
