Temp-to-hire offer, worth it?

I got a contract offer for 13 months as a warehouse supervisor and I am unsure whether to accept. I am in Pittsburgh, in case local advice matters. I would gain recent experience. Did a contract become permanent?

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.
