Temp-to-hire offer, worth it?

I got a contract offer for 7 months as a graphic designer and I am unsure whether to accept. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I have 10 months of savings left. How did you handle benefits?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
