Temp-to-hire offer, worth it?

I got a contract offer for 13 months as an IT help-desk technician and I am unsure whether to accept. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I would gain recent experience.

Ask about extension likelihood and whether the team has hired contractors before.
