Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? after 9 years as a school bus driver

The pay is fair but there are no benefits. I am in Honolulu, in case local advice matters. The contract could extend. Did a contract become permanent?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
