Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? after 8 years as a recruiter

I got a contract offer for 8 months as a recruiter and I am unsure whether to accept. I have 3 months of savings left. How did you handle benefits?

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.
