Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? after 8 years as a pharmacy technician

I got a contract offer for 8 months as a pharmacy technician and I am unsure whether to accept. I would gain recent experience. Did a contract become permanent?

Ask about extension likelihood and whether the team has hired contractors before.
