Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? after 7 years as a quality inspector

I got a contract offer for 7 months as a quality inspector and I am unsure whether to accept. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. The contract could extend. Did a contract become permanent?

Ask about extension likelihood and whether the team has hired contractors before.
