Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? after 7 years as a marketing coordinator

I got a contract offer for 7 months as a marketing coordinator and I am unsure whether to accept. There are 7 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have 12 months of savings left. What would you do?

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.
