Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? after 17 years as a school bus driver

I got a contract offer for 17 months as a school bus driver and I am unsure whether to accept. The contract could extend. Did a contract become permanent?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 14 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
