Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? after 17 years as a school bus driver

I got a contract offer for 17 months as a school bus driver and I am unsure whether to accept. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I would gain recent experience.

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
