Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? after 16 years as a marketing coordinator

I got a contract offer for 16 months as a marketing coordinator and I am unsure whether to accept. The contract could extend. What would you do?

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.
