Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? after 10 years as a payroll clerk

I got a contract offer for 10 months as a payroll clerk and I am unsure whether to accept. It has been a long 9 weeks. The contract could extend. What would you do?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.
