Temp-to-hire offer, worth it?

I got a contract offer for 8 months as a nurse's aide and I am unsure whether to accept. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. The contract could extend. What would you do?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
