Temp-to-hire offer, worth it?

I got a contract offer for 8 months as an operations analyst and I am unsure whether to accept. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I have 12 months of savings left. Did a contract become permanent?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 12 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
