Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? - 5 months and counting

I got a contract offer for 16 months as a security officer and I am unsure whether to accept. It has been weighing on me all week. The contract could extend. Did a contract become permanent?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
