Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? - 17 weeks in

I got a contract offer for 8 months as a hotel front-desk agent and I am unsure whether to accept. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I would gain recent experience. How did you handle benefits?

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.
