Temp-to-hire offer, worth it?

I got a contract offer for 12 months as an administrative assistant and I am unsure whether to accept. Any experience at all would help. The contract could extend. Did a contract become permanent?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
