Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? - 11 months and counting

I got a contract offer for 18 months as a bookkeeper and I am unsure whether to accept. I am in Buffalo, in case local advice matters. I would gain recent experience. Did a contract become permanent?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.
