Salary expectations: how do you answer? (Louisville)

I have been out of work for 12 weeks and feel pressure to accept less. I worked as an office manager before this. I looked up ranges in Louisville and they vary a lot. How do you research fairly?

Check several sources for pay in Louisville, then pick a range where the low end is one you can live with.
