Salary expectations: how do you answer? - first time posting

Aisha Andersson · 2026-05-12T22:50:37.396Z

A recruiter asked for my salary expectations on a first call as I look for work as a copywriter. I am in Honolulu, in case local advice matters. I looked up ranges in Honolulu and they vary a lot. How do you research fairly?

Benefits matter too. A slightly lower rate with better coverage was better for me.
