Salary expectations: how do you answer?

Dahlia Silva · 2026-05-16T15:34:21.914Z

A recruiter asked for my salary expectations on a first call as I look for work as an IT help-desk technician. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I looked up ranges in Dallas and they vary a lot. What did you say?

Benefits matter too. A slightly lower rate with better coverage was better for me.
