Salary expectations: how do you answer?

Sam Halvorsen · 2026-09-01T16:53:18.260Z

A recruiter asked for my salary expectations on a first call as I look for work as a line cook. It has been a long 9 weeks. I also do not want to sell myself short. How do you research fairly?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
