Salary expectations: how do you answer? after 11 years as a medical assistant

I have been out of work for 4 weeks and feel pressure to accept less. It has been a long 4 weeks. I looked up ranges in Albuquerque and they vary a lot.

I gave a range based on local postings and said I was flexible depending on the whole package. They did not push back.
