Salary expectations: how do you answer? after 10 years as a home health aide

A recruiter asked for my salary expectations on a first call as I look for work as a home health aide. I am in Atlanta, in case local advice matters. I looked up ranges in Atlanta and they vary a lot. How do you research fairly?
