Salary expectations: how do you answer?

Emeka Choudhury · 2026-09-06T18:02:18.821Z

A recruiter asked for my salary expectations on a first call as I look for work as a quality inspector. There are 10 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I looked up ranges in Richmond and they vary a lot. What did you say?

Asking about the range for the role first worked for me. Some recruiters share it.
