Salary expectations: how do you answer? - 2 months and counting

Diego Haddad · 2026-04-15T07:18:30.498Z

A recruiter asked for my salary expectations on a first call as I look for work as a software tester. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I looked up ranges in Richmond and they vary a lot.

Asking about the range for the role first worked for me. Some recruiters share it.
