Salary expectations: how do you answer? - 17 weeks in

I do not know whether to give a range or ask for theirs. I am in Austin, in case local advice matters. I also do not want to sell myself short. How do you research fairly?

Check several sources for pay in Austin, then pick a range where the low end is one you can live with.
