Salary expectations: how do you answer? - 11 weeks in

Vivek Thorne · 2026-05-02T14:46:06.579Z

A recruiter asked for my salary expectations on a first call as I look for work as a software tester. Any experience at all would help. I do not want to price myself out. What did you say?

Benefits matter too. A slightly lower rate with better coverage was better for me.
