Returning to work after caring for family - any advice?

I used to work as an event coordinator and I am looking for a part-time role to start. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I am unsure how to describe the break. How did you get back in?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
