Returning to work after caring for family after 18 years as a data-entry clerk

I stepped out for 6 months to care for a family member and now want to return. I worked as a data-entry clerk before this. I am unsure how to describe the break. How did you get back in?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
