Returning to work after caring for family

I stepped out for 10 months to care for a family member and now want to return. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I want flexible hours. Are there returnship programmes?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 10 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
