Returning to work after caring for family - 3 months and counting

I stepped out for 3 months to care for a family member and now want to return. Any experience at all would help. I have been taking an online course. Are there returnship programmes?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
