References when my manager was laid off too - any advice?

Gemma Kowalski · 2026-09-18T12:26:22.825Z

I worry a reference will only confirm dates of employment. It has been a long 18 weeks. I have one former client who liked my work. How do you ask politely?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
