References when my manager was laid off too

Mateo Lindberg · 2026-05-26T07:46:43.322Z

I worry a reference will only confirm dates of employment. There are 7 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. HR only confirms titles and dates. Is a client acceptable?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
