References when my manager was laid off too - 3 months and counting

My manager was laid off too and I am unsure who to use as a reference. Any experience at all would help. I have one former client who liked my work. Who did you use?

Use a professional network to find a former manager. Many will still write a note.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
