Re-entering the job market after caregiving - 12 months and counting

I stepped out for 12 months to care for a family member and now want to return. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I am unsure how to describe the break.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
