Preparing for my first interview in 14 months after 8 years as an accountant

It has been 14 months since my last interview and I feel rusty. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have practised answers but they sound stiff. How do you prepare answers?

I record myself on my phone and listen back. The second try is always better than the first.
