Pivoting from security officer to something new - 5 months and counting

After 16 years as a security officer I am thinking about moving into a different field. Any experience at all would help. I have a little time and a small budget for training. Has anyone made a similar move?

I began with informational chats, then a short online course, then a related entry-level role. It took about 5 months.

Try a small project in the new field before committing. It told me a lot about whether I would enjoy it.
