Pivoting from school bus driver to something new - 6 months and counting

After 8 years as a school bus driver I am thinking about moving into a different field. I am in Buffalo, in case local advice matters. I have a little time and a small budget for training. Has anyone made a similar move?

Try a small project in the new field before committing. It told me a lot about whether I would enjoy it.
