Pivoting from retail manager to something new - 7 months and counting

I want to move from retail manager to something with more stability. I have been trying to stay organised about it. My family is supportive but nervous. Has anyone made a similar move?

Try a small project in the new field before committing. It told me a lot about whether I would enjoy it.
