Pivoting from retail manager to something new - 13 months and counting

After 17 years as a retail manager I am thinking about moving into a different field. I have good customer skills and I am comfortable with spreadsheets. Has anyone made a similar move?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
