Pivoting from production planner to something new - any advice?

I want to move from production planner to something with more stability. I worked as a production planner before this. I have a little time and a small budget for training. Has anyone made a similar move?

Try a small project in the new field before committing. It told me a lot about whether I would enjoy it.
