Pivoting from machine operator to something new (Kansas City)

After 13 years as a machine operator I am thinking about moving into a different field. There are 13 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. My family is supportive but nervous. How did you start?

I began with informational chats, then a short online course, then a related entry-level role. It took about 3 months.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
