Pivoting from machine operator to something new - 10 months and counting

I want to move from machine operator to something with more stability. I worked as a machine operator before this. I have good customer skills and I am comfortable with spreadsheets. Has anyone made a similar move?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
